Milkha
Singh, the flying Sikh, passed away because of post covid complications. His
wife, Nirmal Kaur who was a former Indian volleyball captain, also passed away
at Mohali hospital on 13 June 2021.She also got died because of covid. Milkha
Singh was born on 20 November 1929. At time of his death he was 91 years old.
In 1951, he joined Indian army. Singh represented India in 1956 Olympic Games
in 200m and 400m race. Army has
introduced his talent to world. In 1960, he ran against Abdul Khaliq in Pakistan
to prove his capability. After winning the race General of Pakistan
Ayub Khan gave him a name as Flying Sikh. That time Abdul Khaliq
was the fastest runner and after
defeating him late Milkha Singh got this title.
